About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced PMO Specialist to drive IT governance, portfolio management, and strategic planning for a federal client. You’ll partner with senior government leaders to shape policies, oversee IT investments, and ensure alignment with federal standards and industry best practices.
What You’ll Do: • Develop, document, and implement IT governance frameworks, policies, and processes • Facilitate IT portfolio compliance reviews against federal laws, regulations, and agency guidelines (e.g., FITARA, Clinger-Cohen, FISMA) • Establish and support an IT governance board and working groups; guide strategic direction and decision-making • Advise government officials on monitoring and managing IT portfolios, programs, and projects—ensuring on-time, on-scope, on-budget delivery and risk mitigation • Apply best-practice methodologies in program and project management • Provide data-driven analyses to inform strategic IT investment decisions and resource planning • Conduct regular portfolio reviews, formulate actionable recommendations, and track performance metrics • Collaborate across stakeholders—senior officials, technical teams, project managers—to identify, prioritize, and document IT initiatives
Minimum Qualifications: • 5+ years’ full-time experience in Federal IT governance, portfolio management, or PMO roles • Hands-on knowledge of federal IT laws and regulations governing portfolio management processes • Proven ability to work with senior government leaders, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills; process-driven and results-oriented • Active Secret clearance at time of hire
Preferred Qualifications: • PMP, PfMP, or related portfolio/project management certification • Experience standing up governance boards or enterprise PMOs • Background in risk management, performance reporting, or IT investment analysis
